I grew up as a country girl on a Nebraska farm, where I learned early that good conversations can happen just about anywhere. Sometimes they happened around the kitchen table. Other times they happened while doing chores, working in the garden, feeding animals, or standing beside a fence talking with a neighbor.
Times have certainly changed. Today, many of those conversations happen online! That is one reason I created 1y36.com. I wanted a place where I could share things I have learned, explore new ideas, tell a few stories, and hopefully help someone else along the way.
I have lived long enough to know that none of us knows everything. We keep learning as we go. Sometimes the smallest idea can lead us down a completely different road. Believe me, that happens to me all the time!
I may start researching one simple question and suddenly discover three more things I want to learn about. Before I know it, I have another idea for 1y36.com. That’s part of the fun.

There Is Always Something New to Explore
One thing you will quickly notice about 1y36.com is that I don’t stay in one little corner. Life has too many interesting things to learn about!
You may find me writing about personal growth one day and cooking the next. I might explore family life, pets, beauty, wellness, travel, working from home, or something completely different that caught my attention.
Some articles come from research. Others come from lessons I have learned through my own life experiences. Quite a few begin with a simple thought that gets stuck in my head until I finally sit down and write about it. That’s what makes this website mine. It continues to grow right along with me.
